About Us / Staff

Cathleen Weber, LCSWCathleen Weber, MSW, LCSW is Better Day Club’s Executive Director. She is a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience. She has worked as an area agency on aging case manager, on a hospice team and as an Alzheimer’s educator. She has facilitated hundreds of support groups for family care partners, developed groups for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, provided hundreds of community education presentations and various aspects of Alzheimer’s, dementia and caregiving. Cathleen has experience as a family care partner, as her grandmother and several family members have had dementia.

She is as community advocate for seniors, having helped start the Active Aging Coalition in Bloomington. Cathleen loves working with seniors and is excited to bring her love of cooking, learning, local artists and our dynamic and diverse Bloomington community into many aspects of Better Day programming.

Abigail (Abby) Baldwin, BSW is our Assistant Director for Better Day Club. Abby grew up in Noblesville, Indiana where she lived until moving to Bloomington in the fall of 2007 to attend Indiana University. She graduated in the spring of 2012 with a bachelor’s in social work and a minor in sociology. Her senior year practicum placement was at a senior living center here in Bloomington. In addition to Better Day Club, she also volunteers with Area 10 Agency on Aging as a Caring Companion.

Paula Worley is Better Day Club's Art Therapist. She holds a Masters of Art in Art Therapy from St. Mary of the Woods College, and has years of experience working with both children and adults in a variety of settings.

Laura Karcher, M.A., CCC-SLP, CBIS, of Indiana University's Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, leads the team of clinical graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology from the Speech-Language clinic at the Department of Speecha dn Hearing Sciences. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at IU. She is also a certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS).

Deb Phelps, MM, MT-BC, RN, is a board certified music therapist, registered nurse, Reiki Master Practitioner and Composer. She has been practicing music therapy since 1994. Deb has a gentle spirit, calming presence, delightful sense of humor. She is gifted at "tuning in" to our club members. Deb works with our Better Day Club program and has a private music therapy practice. phelpsmusictherapy.com
